Do errors in brightness uniformity appear on color LCD monitors?
A
LCDs use fluorescent backlights to illuminate the screen. To preserve good brightness uniformity, reflected light and a diffusion board are used but brighter areas can still appear on the screen. These brighter areas can be especially noticeable in the vicinity of the backlights.
